Basset Beagle Hound

The dark eyes are diamond-shaped. The coat is smooth. The coat can be tricolor, or bicolor. All hound colors are accepted. The chest is rather broad. The prolonged back is strong and muscular. The fairly long tail is thick at the base and is tapering toward the tip.

These big dogs on short legs make great family pets. Originally, they were used for hunting small game. They are believed to have a very acute nose, which is second only to the Bloodhound.
