Lowdown Love Basset Hound
We have loved and raised basset hounds for 15 years and take the blessing of having these fantastic animals very seriously. They are first and foremost our pets, and family …. living in our home … which is where the puppies live out there time with us. Never exposed to outdoors at all to protect them from contagious disease. We work very closely with our veterinarian . Excellent health and temperament are what we strive for with our puppies as well as our dogs. We raise European and American basset hounds but most of our litters are half or full European ,with occasional American litters.
We raise Basset Hounds. We currently have seven bassets. We have five females and two male. we have one female and one male that have had two liters. one liter produced just two basset pups and we decided to keep them together and keep them here with us.
Our involvement with Basset Hounds began in 1971. Our Champions and Grand Champions have consistantly been rated amoungst the Top 10 Bassets in the United States, with group placements and numerous Best of Breed, Opposite, Select and Major wins at countless All Breed and Specialty Shows. Though we now breed on a VERY limited basis we still strive to produce dogs with the the traits we fell in love with and feel are so important to the breed — soundness, size, substance, bone, type and temperament.
My wife and I started this hobby about 33 years ago and now that we have retired it has turn into a full time Job. I think it’s more likely we are just getting older. We will only have two or three litters a year, so what we don’t have is a lot of dogs or puppies. What we do have is Great Quality pups with very, very good Pedigrees

We have two locations on Long Island in Hicksville and Lynbrook, both conveniently located off major highways and roads and near LIRR train stations. We are proud to say that we raise AKC champion line European Basset Hounds. We have worked very hard to achieve the quality bloodlines that we have here now as we have continually researched the breed and decided that the USA was lacking all of the old fashion over done features that a basset should have, therefore we imported from our European friends. We love our bassets and we only breed the best.
We currently only breed the Basset Hound. Our goal is to provide you with a healthy, happy Basset Hound Puppy.
We are a small breeder on 60 acres located in beautiful northwest Arkansas. Our dogs are AKC registered. We concentrate on breeding for great temperaments, conformation and breed standards. All of our dogs have plenty of room to exercise and each one, young or old get a lot of personal attention. Our puppies are our passion so they will come to you well socialized and prespoiled!
We are located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York. All of our bassets are from Akc Champion Imports. We are a hobby breeder and will occasionally have puppies. Our bassets are apart of our family we take pride in raising healthy happy basset hounds. We have been hobby breeders of only Basset Hounds for 24 years.After 23 years of breeding, our breeding program has proven to meet the standards of the breed in conformation, temperament and health. We do THROMBOPATHIA AND GONIOSCOPY TESTING on our hounds to ptotect the breed we love.We are excited to be in the show ring with our Bassets and to have them evaluated by judges all over the East Coast area.
We strive to produce hounds that meet or exceed the breed standards. We not only want to produce beautiful hounds but ones that have loving temperaments and sound health.We have made so many friends over the years.
We have been raising Basset Hounds since 1997 so we know the temperment and health issues with our dogs.We live out in the country so that gives our dogs and puppies lots of room to run and play and just be a dog..We start working with our puppies at a young age so they are well socialized and active. Our dogs and puppies are registered with the AKC.
We began raising our hounds 10 years ago and are continuing to improve the Euro Basset Hound breed. We breed for temperament and confirmation, looking especially for short, straight legs and long leathery ears. Our European Bassets have rolls and rolls of thick heavy skin and have exceptionally droopy eyes. All our hounds possess Champion pedigrees.
